Dare I say, social media has completely rotted our brains (myself included). Half the time, teens are speaking in a mix of gibberish and memes that sound like a fever dream. Skibidi this, Ohio that. I recently read that "Ohio" is Gen Alpha slang for weird, but not in a good way. As someone who grew up in Ohio, I find it hilarious.
Is this how our parents felt listening to us? There’s no way our slang was this bad. Teens went from bogus and totally tubular to yeet, and then to whatever is happening now. At this rate, in ten years, entire conversations will just be sound effects and emojis spoken out loud.

25 Memes for Moms Parenting Teens Wondering Where Their Sweet Little Kids Went
Raising teens today is nothing like it was for our parents. My Gen X mom used to tell me stories about her teen years and how she'd ride her bikes for miles with no phones, talk to her friends on a landline she had to fight her sisters to use, and having to come home for dinner when she heard my grandma ring a loud bell summoning her from the neighbor's house.
Meanwhile, today's teens have unlimited internet access, group chats that are constantly going, and an attention span that's hanging on by a thread. Back in the day, parents worried about kids sneaking out. Now we just hope they're not learning everything from TikTok.
